Lately I have received many messages from friends asking me how to delete a contact from WhatsApp. Evidently the way in which the application created by Jan Koum and Brian Acton manages contacts is not clear to everyone, and therefore it seems appropriate to return to the subject.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view) WhatsApp does not have a separate contact system: it analyzes the names in the phone book, detects those who already use the application and adds them to its address book. This means that to delete a name from WhatsApp, it must also be deleted from the phone book.
The only alternative solution we have at our disposal is to select the names we want to "hide" and block them. Blocking a contact in WhatsApp, however, does not mean removing it from the address book. It means preventing them from contacting us, via text messages or VoIP calls, and from viewing our status (so knowing if we are online or not). All clear? Well, then choose whether to completely delete the contacts that "bother you" or to block them only within WhatsApp and take action. It won't take long, you find all the steps you need to take outlined right below.
