How to find public IP address (dynamic and static)
Do you want to know how to find the public IP address of a device on the Internet? In this case, what I advise you to do is to carefully read the following chapters and put into practice what is written in them.
Find your IP address
Believe it or not, to find thepublic IP address of your connection, i.e. the modem that distributes the connection to all the devices connected to your home (or office) network, all you have to do is open the browser and connect to a special online service that allows you to have information detailed information about your IP, the ISP to which it belongs (i.e. the operator providing the Internet connection) and also the location of the telephone exchange to which the connection in use is located.
Among the many services of this kind, you can try My IP. Once connected to the latter, scroll down the page and you will find a box with the identification of your IP address, under the heading Your IP address is.
In addition, you will also be shown other useful information. For example, find the entry Provider which lets you know the name of the manager who provides you with Internet access. Also, in correspondence with the items City e Country, you will be shown the location where the control unit to which your Internet connection belongs is located.
This service allows you to find the IP address from both computers and portable devices, such as tablets and smartphones. On mobile phones and tablets, it can also identify the public IP address of connections under the mobile network (3G / 4G / 5G). No additional steps need to be taken.
How to find a person's IP address
Do you want find another person's public IP address? Maybe a nuisance who sends you unsolicited emails? In this case, you can resort to using the features attached to the program / web service for e-mail you use.
In fact, you can extrapolate the IP address of the sender of an email by consulting theheader received messages.
The header, if you don't know, is a report in which there are all the technical details of the emails received. To find the IP of the sender of an email, you must therefore open the message and proceed according to the web service or program you use to manage the email. Here are some practical examples.

- It was used MacOS Mail, select the email of your interest, select the item Vista from the menu bar, move the cursor to Message and choose the item Source format.
The sender's IP address is the one you find in correspondence with the string Received: from of the report. However, I would like to point out that unfortunately this system does not always work: in general, the IP is replaced by that of the mail service servers and therefore no longer corresponds to the real one.

How to find a site's IP address
If you want instead find the IP address of a website, what you need to do is use one of the many online services of Whois available on the Web. In this regard, I suggest the service Whois Lookup di Domaintools reachable at this URL.
After reaching the link I indicated, in the appropriate text box, type the first and second level domain [domainname]. extension of the website whose IP address you want to find. Once this is done, you just have to press the button Search and locate the data you are looking for in correspondence with the item IP address.

How to find local IP address (dynamic and static)
You need to find the local IP address of a device connected to your home network? In that case, you can refer to all the suggestions that I will propose to you in the next chapters.
If you want to find out how to find the IP address of yours PC Windows, you can get this information simply by using the Command Prompt. Then access the search field next to the button Home (or in the Start menu), type cmd in the search bar and click on the corresponding search result.
In the screen that is shown to you, type the command ipconfig and then press the button Submit of the PC keyboard. Once this is done, you will see all the information about your system's local network. The IP address of your computer is the one indicated next to the wording Address IPv4, for example 192.168.1.10.
If you use a Mac, you can find the IP address by accessing the section Network di System preference. To do this, start the Launchpad and click System preference. Alternatively, click thebitten apple icon and select the item System preference.
Once the System preferenceclicca sull'icona Network and select your connection, for example Wi-Fi, from the left sidebar. You will find the IP address of your Mac in the local network immediately above the drop-down menu with the name of the network you are connected to.
Regarding the IP address of a smartphone or tablet AndroidInstead, you can act directly from the operating system settings panel or using a third-party app. But let's go in order.
For the functionality built into the Android OS, you must first call up the app Settings (the'icona dell'ingranaggio) present on the home screen or in the drawer. At this point, select the item Wi-Fi and tap on the network you are connected to: among the information on the screen, you will find the data you are looking for next to the item IP address.
If your smartphone or tablet is equipped with an Android version that is too outdated or simply the aforementioned functionality is not present, you can rely on the app IP Tools: WiFi Scanner. This is a free app available on the Play Store and on the alternative stores, which allows you to view the local IP address assigned to the device on the network but also the public one, as well as numerous other information.
Since there are several features in the app, for the goal you have set yourself, you need to refer to the tab IP info: find the value of the IP address next to the wording IP Locale.
iOS / iPadOS
If you have a iPhone or of an iPad you don't need third-party apps to be able to find the local IP address of the Apple device. All you have to do is view this information directly in the device settings panel.
Therefore, launch the app Settings through theicona dell'ingranaggio that you find on the home screen. Once this is done, select the item Wi-Fi and tap on network that your iPhone or iPad is connected to. Good! We are almost there! Now, scroll down the screen and, among the information that is shown to you, locate the value of the local IP next to the wording IP address.
The methods I have indicated to you in the previous chapters have the purpose of identifying the local IP address of the device from which you are interacting. If, however, you want to find the IP address of any device connected to the local network, such as a printer, a camera, a game console or any other device, you can act directly from the panel of the router.
The first thing to do is to log into the router. Don't know how to do it? So I recommend reading this tutorial of mine. After logging in, you need to reach the appropriate section which summarizes all the devices connected to the network. Unfortunately, the modem / router interface is not the same among all network devices of this type.
Therefore, in light of this, in the next lines I will show you the procedure you can perform on a ASUS router, but you can take the latter as an example to be able to find on your router the exact section I will refer to.
Once logged in, select the item Network map, in the left menu, and click the button View list, located in the center of the screen. In the new box that is shown to you, there is a list of devices connected to the router. All you have to do is find the IP address from the column Client IP address, corresponding to the name of the device for which you are looking for this information.
How to find router IP address
Do you want to find the IP address of your modem or router? It's that simple. To do this, take a look on the back or side of the device in question - you should find us label sticker with the address written on it. If not, you can try taking a look at the User Manual of the device present in the sales package of the same.
Alternatively, if you use a PC Windows, you can find your router's IP address by typing the command ipconfig in Command Prompt and then identifying the item located next to Default gateway attached to the displayed window.
Su Mac, you can find the router's IP address by accessing the section Network di System preference, selecting the connection in use from the left sidebar and clicking on the button Advanced, bottom right; in the card TCP / IP locate the data you are looking for next to the item Router.

How to find printer IP address
When configuring a printer on the network, it is usually not necessary to manually find the printer's IP address, as the configuration is carried out automatically by the wizard when pairing with the PC or smartphone / tablet.
In some cases, however, it may be necessary find the printer's IP address. How can you do in this case? The first suggestion is to consult the information I have already indicated to you in this chapter. Alternatively, you can learn more by reading this tutorial of mine.
How to find camera IP address
Even in the case of surveillance cameras, network configuration is a process that usually takes place automatically through a wizard and, therefore, no specific skills are required on the part of the user to make them work properly.

How to find PS4 IP address
If you have a PS4, PS5 or any other video game console, such as Xbox One/Series X|S o Nintendo Switch, finding the IP address of these devices is a breeze. Surely you can act from the settings panel of the console itself, as I explained to you in this article dedicated to Sony consoles.
Alternatively, you can avoid juggling the different menus of the game consoles, acting directly from the router. In this regard, you can refer to the suggestions I have already indicated to you in this chapter.Find IP address
