How to log out of WhatsApp Web
The steps for disconnect the browser currently in use by WhatsApp Web are really very simple! Before continuing, however, it is good to clarify a couple of very important aspects.
- The disconnection operation only affects the browser from which you run it. This means that if WhatsApp Web is configured on multiple browsers on your PC, the steps must be taken from each of them.
- Once WhatsApp has been disconnected from the browser, it will be necessary to pair it again with the WhatsApp app via QR code, in order to be able to reuse it.
That said, you can log out of WhatsApp Web in the following way: first, connect to the service page and wait for the interface to fully load. Once this is done, click on the button (⋮) located at the top of the chat list (on the left side of the screen) and choose the option Disconnect from the menu that opens. That's all!
If, on the other hand, you want to disconnect from the WhatsApp computer program (the same clarifications already seen for WhatsApp Web apply), start the latter, click on the button (...) placed at the top of the chat list and select the item Disconnect from the menu that opens on the screen.
How to disconnect WhatsApp Web from all devices
If you don't have the option to disconnect WhatsApp Web from the browser, since you do not have access to the latter (in the event that, for example, you had used a PC not yours to connect), you can delete the association between the browser and your app by acting directly from within the latter. Below, I am going to explain how to do this both using an Android device and through iPhone.
If you are acting from Android, first start the WhatsApp app by recalling it from the drawer of your device (the area where all the installed apps are located), presses the tab Chat, if necessary, and tap the button (⋮) located at the top right to access the app settings menu.
At this point, tap on the option Web WhatsApp and identify the browser you intend to disconnect from among those in the proposed list: to recognize the one you are interested in, you can help by looking at theicon of the associated browser, the date where the last access was made and the operating system used. Note that the items are listed in order of time, from oldest to most recent activity. If, instead of the browser icon, you see that of a computer, it means that the access was made through the WhatsApp program for PC.
Once you have found the browser you want to disconnect from, then tap on the relevant item and then on the button Disconnect, attached to the warning window that is proposed to you. Once the logout is complete, if you want to log in from that browser in the future, you will have to re-pair via QR Code: to do so, connect to WhatsApp Web via the browser in question and wait for the QR code to be used for pairing to be loaded to screen. Afterwards, go back to the section on Web WhatsApp app, tap the button [+] located at the top right and frames the code displayed on the PC screen to finalize the association.
If, on the other hand, you want to disconnect all the WhatsApp Web sessions that you had open in one go, access the WhatsApp Web management screen again and touch, this time, the item Disconnect from all devices, located at the end of the list of browsers currently connected. Finally, tap the button Disconnect And that's it!
Disconnecting WhatsApp Web from one or more computers used previously is also very simple on iPhone. First, start the messaging app by calling it from the iOS Home screen, close the chat displayed in the foreground by performing one swipe from the left towards the center, if necessary, and tap the button Settings located in the lower right corner of the screen.
At this point, tap the item WhatsApp Web / Desktop and, using the browser icon, the date of the last activity, the operating system and, if available, the place of access, locate the browser you want to disconnect from the box dedicated to Connected devices: when you have found it, make one swipe to the left in his correspondence to delete the association.
Also in this case, to use the same program again, you will have to carry out the pairing between the latter and the app in use from the beginning, using the QR code: after connecting to WhatsApp Web via the PC browser and waiting for it to load of the QR Code, then start the app on the iPhone, go back to Settings> WhatsApp Web / Desktop, play the voice Scan the QR code and scan the code displayed on the computer screen.
If you are unable to identify exactly the program to be disassociated and would like to close all active WhatsApp Web sessions in one go, all you have to do is tap the item Disconnect from all devices, residing at the bottom of the list of connected devices, and then confirm the willingness to proceed by touching the button Disconnect that appears on the screen.
