How not to read a message on WhatsApp
Se you don't want to read a message sent on WhatsApp, maybe because you sent it to the wrong person, know that you can do it using a special function offered by the most used messaging app in the world.
To succeed, however, you must act as soon as possible because, as I told you in the introduction, I have passed 68 minutes and 16 seconds after sending the message, it is no longer possible to delete its content for the recipient. Android
To proceed on Android, start the official WhatsApp app on your device, press the tab Chat, locate the conversation in which you sent a message by mistake and then make a long tap on it.
At this point, an icon should appear at the top of the screen dustbin: press on it and, in the menu that opens, tap on the item Delete for all. By doing so, the message will no longer be viewable by the recipient.

iPhone
To delete a message on WhatsApp from iPhone, start the messaging app on your device, locate the chat in which you sent the message you want to delete, press on its preview, locate the message you want to delete and make a long tap on it.

computer
You want to act directly from computer, through the WhatsApp Web service or through the official WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS? No problem: to proceed you simply need to log into your account (if you don't remember how to do it, read the guide in which I explain how WhatsApp works on PC and how to frame the WhatsApp QR) and repeat the steps I indicated in the previous lines.
Find, therefore, the conversation in which you sent the message you want to delete, hover the mouse cursor over the message you are interested in, click on the symbol (⌵) that appears on it and selects the item Delete message from the menu that opens. Finally, confirm the operation by pressing on the item Delete for all present in the box that appeared in the center of the screen and that's it. Easier than that ?!

How not to make a message on WhatsApp be read
You wish to know if there is a way to do not make a message on WhatsApp be read? Of course there is! Just turn off the setting for read confirmations - the famous ones blue ticks - And that's it. Before proceeding, however, I would like to tell you that by deactivating the read receipts, not even you will be able to know if your messages are read or not by the recipients. Understood?
Android
To disable WhatsApp read receipts on Android, start the messaging app, press the button (...) posto in alto a destra and selects the voice Settings from the menu that opens. Then go to the section Account> Privacy of WhatsApp, scroll to the bottom of the screen that opens and remove the check mark from the box Read confirmations.
From this moment on, when you read a message received via WhatsApp, you will not let the user who sent it to you know and the same will apply to you. The only exception is for group chats, whose message read receipts will continue to be displayed anyway.
If you have second thoughts, know that you can go back and restore the WhatsApp setting relating to read confirmations by going to the menu Settings> Account> Privacy and putting the check mark on the option again Read confirmations.
iPhone
A iPhone, you can disable read receipts by performing more or less the same steps that I indicated in the chapter on Android. To proceed, start WhatsApp, tap on the item Settings (the icon ofgear which is located in the lower right corner of the screen), select the items Account e Privacy from the screen that opens and then move up OFF the switch lever corresponding to the wording Read confirmations (at the bottom of the screen).
As I said earlier, once you have deactivated the read receipts, when you read a message received on WhatsApp, the sender will not see the read receipt and the same will apply to you. The only exception is for messages sent via WhatsApp groups, for which read receipts cannot be deactivated.
If you want to restore the default setting and go back to viewing the read receipts on WhatsApp, go back to Settings> Account> Privacy and move up ON the switch lever attached to the option Read confirmations.
How to read a message on WhatsApp without viewing it
You would like to receive some "tips" on how to read a message on WhatsApp without viewing it? There are various ways to do this. One of them is to turn off read receipts, as I showed you a moment ago. But there are also other "tricks" that can be useful for this purpose, such as reading messages from the lock-screen of your device, activating the WhatsApp widget on Android or having Siri read the messages on the iPhone.
- Read messages from the lockscreen - to check that notifications are displayed on Android, go to Settings> Notifications / Sound & Notifications> Screen Lock and make sure the option is selected Show all notifications. On iPhone, go to Settings> Notifications> WhatsApp and move up ON the levetta dell'interruttore situato in corrispondenza della voce Show on lock screen (if necessary) and then tap on the item Show previews e seleziona l'opzione Always (default) (if necessary).
- Activate the WhatsApp widget on Android - to enable it, make a long tap in an "empty" point on the Home screen of your device, select the item widget from the menu that opens, locate the widget concerning thepreview of received messages, make a long press on the latter and place it in the place you prefer on the home screen. The messages that will be sent to you from now on will be displayed inside the widget.
- Have Siri read WhatsApp messages on iPhone - if your iPhone is updated to iOS 10.3 (or later), call Siri and say the phrase "Read the latest messages received on WhatsApp". Apple's voice assistant will read the latest messages you received and ask you if you want to reply to them.

How to send self-destructing photos and videos
Alternatively, to not read a message sent on WhatsApp, you can set the option to self-destruct multimedia attachments, so that the photos or videos you send in chats are automatically deleted after they have been seen by the recipient.
This functionality, called View once, can be used in the app WhatsApp to Android e iOS as well as from PC (using the WhatsApp to Windows o MacOS but also with Web WhatsApp) and, to be used, it must be activated at each sending.
Therefore, to make use of it, after selecting the multimedia element to send in a chat of WhatsApp, tap on button (1), in order to set the self-destruction of the photo or video in question.
Finally, hit the button with airplane icon, to send the multimedia attachment in the chat, sure that the photo or video you sent will be deleted automatically, after the recipient has viewed it. Useful, don't you think?
