Share videos from Messenger to WhatsApp on Android

If you want share videos from Messenger to WhatsApp and use a device Android, the first step you need to take is to start the Messenger app and then select the conversation that contains the video of your interest.

At this point, locate the preview of the video to share on WhatsApp, make a prolonged tap on it and select the item Save video which appears at the bottom left. Alternatively, start the video in full screen and press onarrow icon, bottom right. If this is your first time downloading multimedia content from Messenger, you may be asked for permission to access the SD card and / or device memory: accept.



The most is done! the video you just selected in Messenger has been saved on the memory of your smartphone (or tablet) and, consequently, can now be shared like any other video on WhatsApp.

To share the video on WhatsApp, then open the famous messaging app, select the chat or group of your interest, tap on the icon of the camera located at the bottom right (in the message composition field) and select the video to post. Alternatively, if you prefer, tap on the icon of clip (always placed in the message composition field), select the item Gallery from the menu that opens, go to All media and select the video to share on WhatsApp.

Choose, therefore, whether to customize the video using the editing tools included in WhatsApp (using the two indicators at the top you can cut the movie by setting new start and end points by clicking on the icon smiley you can add emojis and stickers by selecting the "T" you can add text by touching the icon of pencil you can add a freehand writing or drawing, while by swiping upwards you can apply some filters).



Finally, if you wish, type a caption in the text field located at the bottom and presses the icon ofairplane to send the video on WhatsApp. It wasn't difficult, was it?

How do you say? Does the video you received on Messenger and you want to share on WhatsApp link to YouTube or another video sharing service? In this case, things get even simpler: as already mentioned at the opening of the post, to share the video on WhatsApp, in fact, all you have to do is copy its URL (i.e. its address) and paste it in the chat or in the group of your interest. Let's see in more detail how to proceed.

First, start the Messenger app on your smartphone or tablet, open the conversation that contains the video you want to share on WhatsApp and make a prolonged tap on its preview or its address (if present in the body of the message).

At this point, select the voice Copy from the menu that appears at the bottom, open WhatsApp, select the chat or group where you want to share the video, make a prolonged tap in the text entry field, select the item Paste from the menu that is displayed on the screen and, after the video thumbnail appears (function available for YouTube but not for all video sharing services), presses the icon of theairplane to proceed with sending.

Mission accomplished! Now your WhatsApp friends can watch the video you received on Messenger even without being registered on the famous Facebook messaging platform. Happy?


Share videos from Messenger to WhatsApp on iOS

You would like to share a video from Messenger to WhatsApp using your own iPhone but you don't know how to do it? Don't worry, even on the Apple smartphone this is an operation that can be done in just a few taps.


First, launch the Messenger app and open the conversation that contains the video you want to share on WhatsApp. At this point, do a prolonged tap on the video preview, select the item Save from the menu that appears below and, if this is the first time you use Messenger to download multimedia content on your "iPhone by", allow the app to access the iOS photos by answering affirmatively to the warning that appears on the screen.

Perfect: now you have the movie of your interest in the iOS roll (i.e. in the Photos app) and then you can share it on WhatsApp as if it were any movie made with the camera of your smartphone.

Start WhatsApp and open the chat or group where you want to post the video. At this point, press the button + located at the bottom left, choose the item Photo and video library from the menu that appears on the screen and select the video you downloaded just now from Messenger.

Finally, if you wish, use the editing tools of WhatsApp to personalize the movie (with i two indicators at the top you can cut the movie by clicking on the icon cutter you can resize or rotate it by selecting the smiley you can add emojis and stickers, with the "T" you can add text by touching the icon of pencil you can add a writing or a hand drawing, while swiping upwards you can apply some filters), type a caption with which to accompany the video and presses the icon ofairplane to post it.

Then things get even simpler: all you have to do to share the video on WhatsApp is to copy its address from Messenger and paste it into the chat or group of your interest. Here's in more detail how you need to proceed.


First, launch the Messenger, open the conversation that contains the video of your interest and make a prolonged tap on its thumbnail or on its address (if present in the body of the message). At this point, select the item Copy from the menu that appears on the screen, go back to the home screen of your iPhone and start WhatsApp.

Then select the chat in which you want to share the video, make a prolonged tap in the message composition box and select the item Paste from the menu that appears on the screen. Wait for a thumbnail of the movie to appear (function available for YouTube but not for all video sharing services) and press the icon of theairplane to complete sharing.

If you use a iPad, you can follow the instructions I just gave you for iPhone using, instead of the WhatsApp app (which as known is not available for the Apple tablet), the Web version of the service, which is accessible via Safari or through dedicated apps, such as the ones I reported to you in the final part of my tutorial on how to install WhatsApp on iPad.

Share videos from Messenger to WhatsApp on computer

You work a lot on the computer and, as a result, you often find yourself using Messenger e WhatsApp in the desktop environment? Don't worry, there is a function that allows you to share videos from Messenger to WhatsApp even on Windows or macOS. All you have to do is use the Web version of Messenger and the Web version of WhatsApp or, alternatively, the WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS (which I told you extensively in my tutorial on how to download WhatsApp on PC).

When you're ready to get started, log into the web version of Messenger and select the conversation that contains the video you want to share on WhatsApp (from the left sidebar). Then click on movie thumbnail in question and presses the button Download located at the top left to download it to your computer.

Once the video download is complete, open Web WhatsApp or WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS, select the chat or group where you want to share the video downloaded from Messenger and click the icon first clip located at the top right and then on the icon of Photo and video (the photo on a purple background) that appears on the screen.

At this point, select the movie you downloaded just now from Messenger, choose whether or not to add one caption to the latter (the editing functions present in the WhatsApp app for smartphones are not yet present in the desktop version of the service) and presses the icon of theairplane to share it.

If you want to share a video from YouTube or another video sharing platform on WhatsApp, all you have to do is copy its address from Messenger and paste it into the chat of your interest.

Therefore, connect to the Web version of Messenger, select the conversation that contains the video of your interest and copy the address by selecting it normally with the mouse and then right clicking and selecting the item Copy from the context menu (if it is in the body of the message) or, alternatively, by clicking on its miniature and then copying the address of the page that opens in the browser (from address bar placed at the top).

Finally, open Web WhatsApp or WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS, select the chat or group where you want to share the video, right click on the text entry field, select the voice Paste from the context menu and, after the video thumbnail appears (function available for YouTube but not for all video sharing sites), give Submit to proceed with its sharing.
