    Preliminary information

How to find AirPods with Android

Prima di enter the live tutorial, walking to spiegare how to find airpods with android, there is some preliminary information I need to give you about it.

We assume that all AirPods models are primarily designed to be used with the Apple devices: only in this way, in fact, it is possible to fully use all the functions of the earphones produced by the Cupertino giant.

In addition, thanks to the special chip they are equipped with (H1), the AirPods are immediately recognized by iPhone e iPad, which can then be used on all other devices associated with the same Apple ID; not to mention the fact that they automatically come into operation when worn (as I also explained to you in my guide on the subject).

Su all other devices that support Bluetooth connectivity, smartphones and tablets Android included, the AirPods can still be paired by selecting them from the list of Bluetooth devices and used like any other pair of wireless headphones. For more information on the pairing and use of AirPods on Android, I refer you to the consultation of my tutorial on the subject.

That said, in the event that the AirPods are lost, they can be found on Apple devices using the application Where is it, used to identify the devices produced by the company on a map. The application in question is only available for iOS, iPadOS and macOS and to know the position of the AirPods it is essential that the earphones have been previously combined to the iPhone or iPad possibly owned and that the service is active on the device in question Find My iPhone / Find My iPad, as I explained to you in my guide dedicated to how to activate "Find my iPhone".

As an alternative to using the Dov'è application, to find the AirPods you can rely on a special service available from the iCloud website, by logging in to your Apple ID. Being a website, it works from any device capable of connecting to the Internet and equipped with a browser, therefore also from Android devices. Here, then, is how to see the position of the AirPods on the map even from non-Apple devices.

Still on Android, you can then rely on the use of third-party applications, which however, however effective they may be, are limited, as they are able to report the position of the AirPods only as long as Bluetooth is enabled and only within its range (typically about ten meters).

How to track AirPods with Android

Having made the necessary clarifications above, I would say that we can finally get to the heart of the tutorial and go and find out how to track AirPods with Android.

    iCloud

How to find AirPods with Android

If you are interested in finding the AirPods with Android and if you have also paired the earphones with an iPhone or an iPad, you can first of all succeed in your intent through the iCloud website.

So, first of all, take your Android smartphone or tablet, unlock it, access the home screen and / or the drawer and select thebrowser icon that you use on your device (eg. Chrome).

Now that you see the navigator screen, go to the iCloud.com home page, type yours Apple ID in the appropriate field that you see appear on the display and, subsequently, the Password associated with it. If your account hastwo-factor authentication, also authorize access by following the instructions provided on the screen.

After logging in to the iCloud site with your credentials, tap on the wording Find iPhone and, if prompted, type the again Password Apple ID in the appropriate field. Subsequently, you will be shown a map indicating the location of the Apple devices in your possession, also visible at the bottom in the form of a list.

Select, therefore, the AirPods from the list and spread two fingers on the screen to enlarge the position of the earphones on the map and understand where they are exactly. It will also tell you if the earbuds are online or not and how long ago they were last known.

If this can be useful, I inform you that you can also use the function that allows you to make the earphones ring (if connected to the Internet), so that you can find them more easily if they are nearby: just press the button Make it ring appears after selecting the AirPods.

    Other third party solutions

How to find AirPods with Android

If you want to find the AirPods with Android but are looking for an alternative to the method I have already described to you, perhaps because you do not have an iCloud account or you do not have an iPhone or iPad to which you previously paired the Apple earphones, you can consider using the use of some third-party app which can be used to find nearby Bluetooth devices.

The limit of apps of this type, however, lies in the fact that they do not clearly indicate on the map where the AirPods (or other Bluetooth devices searched for) are located, but only indicate whether the device of interest is more or less close. Furthermore, to take advantage of them it is essential that Bluetooth is enabled on the smartphone or tablet in use and that the battery of the AirPods (or in any case of the device to be searched) is not exhausted, otherwise they will not be able to emit any Bluetooth signal.

Among the various solutions of this type available on the square, I suggest you consider Find Bluetooth Device, which is free (but offers in-app purchases, at a cost of 99 cents to remove advertising). To download it on your device, visit the relevant section of the Play Store and press the button Install. If you are using a device on which the Play Store is not available, you can download the app through an alternative store.

When installation is complete, start Find Bluetooth Device by selecting the relevant one icon which has been added to the home screen and / or drawer, then grant the app i permissions required to activate and use Bluetooth and wait for the list of Bluetooth devices in range of the device to be updated. If you want, you can help you find it by tapping on the item Black present at the bottom and setting the available filters (e.g. you can decide to exclude unnamed devices from the list).

Subsequently, if you see the AirPods in the list appear, click on them to understand how far they are based on the signal emitted. On the next screen, in fact, you will be shown the intensity of the signal and, on the basis of the latter, the presumed distance. Then move with your Android smartphone or tablet in hand to try to get as close as possible to the Apple earphones, taking into account the changes in signal strength that are reported by the app.

If you can find the AirPods, then remember to press the button I Found It on the Find Bluetooth Device screen, to mark the earbuds as recovered and to make them disappear from the list of devices to be searched.
