How to find a landline phone number
Let's start this guide dedicated to how to find a phone number from the contact details of fixed line. There are several useful services on the Internet in this regard. Below you will find those that in my opinion represent the best in the category.
White pages
Let's start with a service for many "taken for granted" but undoubtedly useful: the one offered by White pages, which allows you to find the telephone numbers of private citizens, freelancers and companies. For private individuals, only landline telephone numbers are shown (those present in public directories) while for companies and professionals, mobile numbers can also be traced.
To use the PagineBianche site, all you have to do is connect to it and type in the field where it says Name, Surname or Company name, the name of a person or professional whose telephone number you want to know. Then type the name of the reference city from the adjacent field and click on search to view the search results.
If you want to perform a reverse search, ie starting from a phone number to find out its owner, select the tab telephone number and enter the number to find in the search field that appears in the center of the page; then click on the button search.
PagineBianche can also be used on smartphones and tablets: just download its official app which is free and can be used on both Android and iOS / iPadOS.
Yellow Pages
If you need to find the telephone number of a company or a professional, you can count on Yellow Pages. Apart from fixed telephony, the mobile numbers of those who have requested it have recently been included, with reference to firms, companies and freelancers.
To use it, connected to the homepage of the PagineGialle site, click on the tab telephone number and enter the telephone number you wish to know more about in the appropriate text field. Then click on the button search to start the search.
If, on the other hand, you want to do a reverse search, or go back from the name of the header to the number, you have to click on the tab name, type the name of the company, activity or category of reference, indicate the reference location in the field on the right (if this has not already been detected automatically) and click on the button search. In case you want to find all the shops, offices and public places that are located in a specific area, just select the tab address and repeat the above steps providing the requested information.
You can also use the PagineGialle service from smartphones and tablets by installing the official app for Android and iOS / iPadOS, which is free.
InfoBell
InfoBell is another service that I recommend you use. What is it about? A sort of vast telephone directory that can be consulted online, thanks to which it is possible to find telephone numbers of individuals and companies.
How to use? It's very easy: first of all, connect to its main page and select through the appropriate drop-down menu whether to search for the number of acompany or that of a private. After selecting the option you prefer, type in the appropriate text field the number for which you wish to obtain further information and click on the button Research to start the search.
Now, all you have to do is consult the results that have been found and see if there is any useful information to trace the origin of the numbering sought.
Other useful solutions
As an alternative to the online services above, you can rely on the following web resources to try and find a landline phone number. Take a look at them, maybe they can be useful to you.
- tellows - it is a collaborative service that allows you to find out who a given phone number belongs to thanks to the comments of others. To use it you have to connect to its home page, type the number to find in the top bar and click on the button Search.
- Who's calling? - this is the site that the app Should I Answer (for Android and iOS) uses to identify and block the numbers of so-called “known annoyers”. To use it just write the reference number in the search field and press on CIRCLES.
How to find a cell phone number
As I told you at the beginning, find phone number it is much more complex when it comes to Cell, which, as is known, are not grouped in public directories. There are only volunteer lists where users can add their contact details in order to find those of other registered people. Alternatively, you can rely on the good Google.
Dive3000
One of the best known services in the category is Dive3000 which can only be used upon registration, which involves the inclusion of your mobile number and the consequent publication of the latter in the list. Allows you to search for the numbers of all users who have registered on the site.
To use it, connected to the site, click on the link SUBSCRIBE and fill in the form that is proposed to you by entering your e-mail address, the username you want to use and the password you want to associate with the account you are going to create. Then, re-type the chosen password in the appropriate text field, check the box next to the item I'm not a robot and presses the button Submit. If you prefer, you can also subscribe to the service with Facebook, by pressing the button Login with Facebook and then entering the login data relating to your account on the social network.
Then access the e-mail address relating to the email address indicated during the registration procedure (if you have chosen to register via Facebook you must access the one associated with your account on the social network) and open the message that was sent to you by Dive3000. Then click on the link in the email to complete the account creation procedure.
Once you have completed the above steps, you will be able to access the telephone directory on Dive3000 and carry out all the searches you want using the appropriate form on the screen. Then type in the phone number for which you intend to investigate and press the button Submit on the PC keyboard. Then analyze the results that are shown to you and click on the one you are interested in to find out more.
Services like Dive3000 are not always able to return satisfactory results, so alternatively you can try to do some research on Google.
If the person whose number you want to find out also uses their mobile phone for professional purposes, you could find their contact details by searching for their name on the number one search engine in the world (in quotes, in order to avoid too dispersive searches, eg. "Save configurehow mobile number"). Next, analyze the displayed results and click on the one you think might be most relevant.

Other useful solutions
Did the above solutions to find a phone number not allow you to get the information you were hoping for? Then try to rely on the following services / apps, maybe you can finally "get a spider out of the hole".
- Sync.Me - online service (also available as an app for Android and iOS) that allows you to locate mobile numbers, as long as they are available online. Using it is simple: just access its home page, click on pennant located on the left to open the menu that allows you to select the international prefix to be set and, after choosing one, you must write the number of your interest in the appropriate text field, click on the button Search and tick the box I'm not a robot.
- TrueCaller - is a web service (also available as an app for Android and iOS), which allows you to find out the numbers of unknown senders and block the "annoyances" (function available only in the app for mobile devices). To use it, you need to register and make your number available to the public and provide access to your address book. How to find an unknown phone number
Have you received anonymous calls and would like to understand which numbering is hidden behind the classic words "private number" or "unknown number"? Then subscribe now to Whooming. This is a service (also available as an app for Android and iOS / iPadOS) designed specifically for this purpose which, using the call forwarding technique, allows you to find out who called, even if the call was made with the anonymous.
The service is free (although to view the numbers completely in clear text it is necessary to subscribe to a paid subscription, which starts at 12,99 euros for three months) and it is really very simple to use.
