How to restart WhatsApp on Android
In case you need to restart WhatsApp on your smartphone Android, follow the instructions below: in the next chapters I will show you some solutions that can do for you.
If you encounter any malfunctions in WhatsApp, you can restart the app by acting directly from the section relating to multitasking of your device. The procedure you will need to follow is very simple: first, to view the section multitasking, press the appropriate icon at the bottom (this has the shape of a square or two rectangles superimposed, based on your Android device model). By pressing this key, you can see all current app sessions open in the background on the device.
Now, if you want to close all apps, press thetrash can icon or that one with rectangles, located at the bottom. Alternatively, scroll through the open apps until you locate the WhatsApp one, then swipe up on its preview, or press on theX icon, to finish it.
This method can be useful for closing an app that is currently running, but in some cases it is not enough. You must, therefore, completely close the process to restore its correct functioning. To do this, launch the app Settings, Whose icon with an ingranaggio is located on the home screen, and selects the items App > App > WhatsApp from the next screen: by doing so, you will access the application tab of WhatsApp with all the information relating to permissions and occupied memory.
Before you forcefully close the app, tap the item Memory e pulsing sul pulsating Clear cache, in order to clean the app of any corrupt data that could cause it to malfunction. At this point, go back to the previous screen, press the button Ends twice in a row and that's it. Now you can reopen WhatsApp normally, through its icon on the home screen.
Restart the smartphone
In case the app of WhatsApp should it continue to not work properly, the problem probably lies in some Android functionality, such as a software error in the network module or some other service of the operating system.
In these cases, the simplest solution to adopt is to carry out a soft reset smartphone (or tablet) in use, i.e. restart it. This operation is possible by holding down the side switch off button and selecting the appropriate item Restart on the screen.
If this item is not present, press and hold the side switch off button and choose the item Switch off, which is shown to you on the display. As soon as the smartphone has turned off, press and hold the again side power button, to turn on the device. Now you can start again WhatsApp through its icon that you find on the home screen.
If the advice I gave you in the previous chapters did not have been useful to restart WhatsApp, as anomalies continue to occur in its operation, the best solution could be to reinstall the app.
I warn you that with this procedure you could lose WhatsApp conversations, images or videos sent and received. In this regard, it is important to first make a preventive backup, which you will then restore after reinstalling the WhatsApp app. I talked to you in detail on the subject in this guide of mine.
After making the backup, uninstall the app by holding your finger on its icon on the home screen, by choosing the item Uninstall, in the box that is shown to you, and then pressing on OK. On some models of Android smartphones, however, you have to drag theicon of the app on the wording Uninstall, which you find in the area above.

How to restart WhatsApp on iPhone
If you own a iPhone and are you going to restart the WhatsApp app, perhaps because you have encountered some malfunctions in it, what you need to do is read the following chapters carefully, as I will provide you with some tips that will surely be useful to you.
To restart the WhatsApp app, you can try to force it to close first via the appropriate screen multitasking of iOS. To access this panel, if you use iPhone X or later, go to the screen Home phone and swipe from bottom to top at the bottom edge of the display, then stop gently towards the center. On older iPhone models, however, press the button twice Home.
Once this is done, scroll through the apps with side swipes until you find the preview of WhatsApp. At this point, perform another swipe upwards above its preview, in order to force it to close.

Restart the iPhone
In case you have not solved it through the procedure indicated in the previous chapter, I recommend that you restart the iPhone.
To carry out this operation, in case you are in possession of a iPhone X or later models, press and hold the simultaneously side button It is one of volume keys. By doing so, you will be shown a screen to shut down the device. Then perform a swipe on the appropriate wording to perform the shutdown.
On older iPhone models, however, press and hold the side button standbyuntil you are shown the screen for turning off the device. Also in this case, to complete the operation, swipe the wording sideways Swipe to turn off.
Now, to turn the iPhone back on, press and hold the side buttonuntil the Apple logo is shown in the center of the screen. If, despite what I have indicated to you in the previous chapters, you have not been able to solve the WhatsApp problem by restarting the app or device, the most suitable solution is the one that requires uninstalling the app and, therefore, its subsequent reinstallation. .

At this point, uninstall the app via the panel Settings of iOS. Start the latter via his icon with l'ingranaggio that you find on the home screen and select the items Generali > Free space iPhone > WhatsApp. Once this is done, in the screen that is shown to you, select the item Delete app twice in a row, in order to uninstall any app data.
To install the app again, go toApp Store via this link, press the speech bubble button and unlock download and install with Face ID, Touch ID or iCloud account password. Once this is done, launch the app WhatsApp via its icon on the home screen, to use it again.

How to restart WhatsApp on PC
If you are experiencing problems with the desktop client WhatsApp for Windows and macOS, which I told you about in this guide, you can proceed with the forced closure of the process through the appropriate panels available in these operating systems.
Su Windows, april il Task Manager (Activity management), using the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc. In the screen that is shown to you, locate the process related to WhatsApp and right click on it. In the box that appears, choose the option End activity, to force it to close.
Su MacOSinstead, try closing the application normally by pressing the combination of cmd + q on the keyboard, and then restart it. If that doesn't work, you can act via the panel Force quit applications, which is shown to you by pressing the key combination cmd+alt + esc. Now, all you have to do is select WhatsApp from the list of running programs and press the key Forced exit, to close the process.
