More precisely, the option refers to the characteristic serial number of the eSIM, that is to say of the particular SIM present "standard" in the chip of the phone motherboard (and currently usable only through some citt脿n operators, such as TIM and Vodafone). Before showing you how to proceed, however, it is necessary to make a clarification: up Windows, the software must be downloaded and installed as I explained to you in my tutorial on the subject. In the specific case of Macs, however, iTunes is currently only available on macOS 10.14 Mojave and earlier versions and comes pre-installed. Starting from macOS 10.15 Catalina (which is the most recent version of the operating system at the time of writing this guide), iTunes is no longer usable and its functions, including the one that allows you to view the ICCID of the SIM, have been incorporated into other applications "of series 鈥漚nd in the Finder. If this is your case, to intervene from the computer you must refer to the instructions you find in the next chapter.

Once the connection between computer and iPhone is established, click ondevice icon located at the top left of the main iTunes window, select the item Riepilogo from the left sidebar and click on the item Phone Number (in the box located in the center of the window, under the name of your iPhone), until you see the wording appear ICCID: the number next to it corresponds to the serial number of the SIM.

MacOS Finder

As I told you, if you are using macOS 10.15 Catalina or later, iTunes is no longer available, as all the features offered by the famous software have been disseminated in other pre-installed applications on the Mac, including the Finder. In fact, through the latter, it is possible to view the serial number of the SIM inserted in the iPhone (or iPad)

To do this, connect your iPhone to the computer, using the Lightning cable supplied, inserting one end into the USB port of your PC or Mac and the other end into the connector iPhone and making sure both devices are lit. If you carry out this operation for the first time, you must also authorize the communication between the phone and the computer, by clicking on the button Authorize in the warning window that appears on Windows or macOS, about that Authorize in response to the message that appears on the iPhone display and typing the relative unlock code.

Find the SIM serial number on the card

If you have not been able to trace the serial number of the SIM using your smartphone (or your tablet), you just have to go to the "hard way" and look for the aforementioned code directly on the board.

If the SIM whose serial you want to know is inserted in a smartphone, you must remove the card from the device. Depending on the structure of the device, the operation may require different steps: on terminals with a metal body, such as the most recent top of the range from Apple, Samsung and Huawei, it is necessary to take the metal paper clip supplied with the device and insert it into the forum placed on the SIM slot, exerting a strong enough pressure. If you don't have the metal paper clip handy at the moment, you can use any document clip and fold it.

For devices with a plastic body and removable backcover, however, the procedure to follow is simpler: just remove the rear cover exerting an upward pressure (you should be able to find the point to pry by passing your fingers on the edges of the device you are working on), then you have to remove the battery (if this is removable) and remove the SIM from his housing.

The ICCID code, i.e. the serial number of the SIM you are looking for right now, should be printed on the body of the card, be it a traditional SIM (Mini SIM), a Micro-SIM or a Nano-SIM.

In many cases, even on the laminated card of the SIM, the one in which the card was embedded at the time of purchase or delivery before being inserted into the phone, the ICCID present on the SIM itself is repeated (together with other useful codes, such as PIN and PUK). So, in the event that the ICCID code is unreadable on the SIM, you may be able to recover it as I have just indicated.
