Fortunately, delete WhatsApp messages it is possible and it is an operation that, in the current state of things, you can carry out in two ways; the first of these is intended to perform a "cleaning" of the chat screen visible on the mobile phone.
The other method, on the other hand, allows you to delete the message sent also on the recipient's device, provided that he too has the latest version of the app and that the message sent has not been sent for more than 1 hour (68 minutes and 16 seconds, to be precise).
The first procedure can be applied indiscriminately on both sent and received messages. In this case, however, it should be noted that deleted messages will not actually be removed from the conversation but only from your chat screen.
This means that the messages will continue to be visible in the chat of the other user or of the other users you were conversing with. In case you want to delete the message also for the recipient, you will have to proceed with the second method within the time limits indicated.
Furthermore, there is an exception: it is possible to delete WhatsApp messages by making them disappear in effect from the conversation if the message appears next to the message sent. dell'orology symbol (instead of the classic ones gray ticks e blu).
This symbol indicates the fact that the message has not yet been delivered to the recipient due to technical problems: by deleting the message in this state it will no longer be delivered. However, it is a situation, so to speak, a bit "extreme" and that cannot always happen.
I also point out the possibility of activating the setting of ephemeral messages for individual chats, so that messages disappear automatically 7 days after they are sent.
