How to make GIFs on WhatsApp from Android
If you have a smartphone Android, you will be happy to know that there is more than one solution for make GIFs on WhatsApp. You can, in fact, transform a video in the memory of your device into a GIF, you can create an animated image following the recording of a movie, or you can send a ready-to-use GIF by choosing it from those present in the default database of the application .
To get started, start the WhatsApp app on your device and open the chat of your interest. Now, to create a GIF on the fly from an existing video (it must last at most 6 seconds), tap the button with the paper clip symbol and, in the proposed menu, choose whether to create a GIF starting from a video made previously (Gallery) or whether to record a video on the spot to be transformed into a GIF (Camera).
At this point, after recording or after selecting the video to transform, use the indicators on screen to set the start and end points (the maximum duration must be 6 seconds, otherwise the option to send it as GIF does not appear), click on the button GIF located at the top right, add any caption and press on arrow, to send the image.
If, on the other hand, you simply want to browse the catalog of GIFs included in the WhatsApp database, tap on the icon smiley which is located in correspondence with the text field. Once this is done, click on the button GIF, select the GIF you are interested in or search for it via the search engine (the magnifying glass) and, to send it in the selected chat, press the icon of arrow.
How to make GIFs on WhatsApp from iPhone
As for the possibility of making GIFs via the WhatsApp app on iPhone, the options available are the same as seen above for Android. You can, therefore, transform a video into a GIF starting from a movie recorded on the spot or made previously (it must last maximum 6 seconds) and you can also use an internal search engine of the WhatsApp app with lots of ready-to-use GIFs.
To proceed, start the WhatsApp app on your iPhone and, via the screen Chat, locate and tap on the conversation of your interest.
Now, tap the button symbol (+) located in the lower left corner, then tap on the item Photo and video library (to choose a previously recorded video to be transformed into GIF) or on the wording Camera (to record a video on the spot, via your device's camera).
Once this is done, in both cases, to turn the video into a GIF, use the yellow indicators to outline the start and end points (it must last a maximum of 6 seconds), tap the button GIF, possibly add one caption and first button with arrow symbol, located at the bottom right, to send it.
Would you like to share one GIF already exists on WhatsApp looking for it through the internal database? In this case, after opening the chat screen with a user, press the button capacitor positive (+) lead and tap on the item Photo and video library.
Now, press the button with the magnifying glass symbol located in the lower left. At this point, locate the GIF you are interested in or search for it through the search engine. Finally, send it by pressing on button with arrow symbol.
How to make GIFs on WhatsApp from PC
Even using WhatsApp for PC e Web WhatsApp you can share animated GIFs in your own conversations. In this case, however, at least for the moment, it is not possible to create new ones.
All you have to do to do this is to log in to WhatsApp from a client or WhatsApp Web by scanning the QR code you see on your PC, via the menu Settings> WhatsApp Web of the WhatsApp app on your smartphone (more info here).
Once this is done, on the main WhatsApp screen on your computer, locate and click on conversazione of your interest, then click on the icon smiley and fai clic sul tasto GIF, to see all the animated images available and possibly use the search engine, to search for the one of your interest.
Finally, to send a GIF in the selected chat, click on it and press the iarrow cone.
Other solutions to make GIFs on WhatsApp
The WhatsApp app allows, as mentioned, to transform a video into a GIF, but unfortunately it is limited compared to other applications. Therefore, in the following lines you will find some apps for Android e iOS usable for advanced GIF creation; the images obtained can then be shared on WhatsApp or other popular social or instant messaging platforms.
- GIPHY (Android / iOS / iPadOS) - is the most famous free app dedicated to creating GIFs and searching for them, through a vast internal database. In fact, in this app, numerous advanced tools for the creation of GIFs are made available, including stickers, frames, filters and much more.
- GIF Me! (Android / iOS / iPadOS) - is another good GIF maker app. This application is also free and allows you to create animated images starting from videos made previously or recorded on the spot. In addition to having tools for aesthetic customization of animated images, it also has advanced options for editing them.
- GIF Maker (Android / iOS) - also available for free, this application allows, in a similar way to the others, to create GIFs easily from scratch, but also to download them, using the appropriate internal database.
