The only thing you have to take care to "renew" is the application itself, in the sense that you must always keep it updated so as not to lose its new features and not take unnecessary risks related to IT security.

Give me five minutes of your free time and I'll explain how to check for updates for WhatsApp on all major platforms in the mobile sector: Android, iOS and Windows Phone. This is really a no-brainer, don't worry.
If you want to check for updates for WhatsApp, all you have to do is open the store of your smartphone and go to the app update screen. Below you will find step-by-step instructions for all major operating systems in the mobile world.

How to change your WhatsApp account
You changed your phone number and you want to renew WhatsApp by transferring your account to the new line? This can also be done.
