To do this, start the web browser you generally use to browse the net, type www.facebook.com in the address bar and then press the button Submit on the keyboard. Then fill in the fields displayed at the top of the screen by typing the e-mail address and password associated with your Facebook account and click on the button Log in.
At this point, all you have to do is type the name of the person you want to find in the search bar located at the top and click on one of the suggestions that appear below it.

You can also help you with the filters that you find at the top of the page with the search results in such a way as to display only people with certain mutual friends, those coming from specific places or those referring to a given school, university or company. .
Once you have found the person of your interest, click on their name to access their Facebook profile and then click on the button add to friends that you find at the top, in correspondence with the space dedicated to the cover image.
Upon request, all you have to do is wait for the person contacted to accept your friendship and you will be ready to reconnect with her.
Through suggestions
You can also search for friends on Facebook by relying on the friendship suggestions given by the social network itself based on the information that each member chooses to provide about themselves and on the basis of friendships in common. To search for friends on Facebook through friendship suggestions, all you have to do is go to the main page of the social network, click on the button depicting two men located in the upper right part of the blue bar of the same and scroll through the list of people you may know.
If you can't find people you think you know among the proposed friendship suggestions, click on the item Show all placed in the lower part of the box that has gone to open on the screen in such a way as to be able to view all the friendship suggestions available.
From the new Web page that will be shown to you at this point, you can refine the results using the filters and search tools that are located on the right, in correspondence with the section Look for friends. By doing this you can find friends related to different periods and / or aspects of your life, for example based on the hometown, the one you are in now, the employer, the degree obtained, etc.
When you find one or more people you know and would like to add to your Facebook contacts, click on the button add to friends that you find in correspondence with its name and that's it.
Through contacts
In addition to the systems that I have already indicated to you in the previous lines, you can also search for friends on Facebook using your contacts (e-mail addresses and telephone numbers). To search for friends on Facebook in this way all you have to do is go to the main page of the social network, press the button depicting two men located on the blue bar at the top right and click on the item Find friends present at the top of the menu that opened.
Then locate the section Add personal contacts located in the upper right part of the new web page that is shown to you, select, by clicking on the relevant icon, the system through which you want to search for friends on Facebook using the contacts (eg. iCloud, Outlook.com o Yahoo!) and provide the requested data by filling in the appropriate fields visible on the screen.
Just type in your e-mail address and, if requested, the access password associated with it, log in and authorize the import of the contacts. If you have chosen to search for friends on Facebook through a generic email service, you will instead be asked to export the contacts to a CSV file and then upload the latter to the social network.
To conclude, click on the button Find friends and Facebook will import the contacts from your account on the previously specified service. Once the import is complete, you will be shown a list of all the people in your address book who are registered on Facebook. To send them a friend request, put the check mark next to their photos and click on the button located at the bottom right.
