In the IT sector, theUser Identifier (usually abbreviated to user ID o UID) is nothing more than a numerical code through which it is possible to uniquely identify the user of a platform. Facebook, like other platforms, uses it to identify users and pages, and it can be found in several ways.
As for the retrieval of the ID of that concerns the profile of a person, need analyze the page source of your interest in the browser and locate the string “Profile_id”. As regards the pages, on the other hand, the procedure is decidedly less cumbersome, as the social network integrates an ad hoc function that is useful for the purpose.
In addition, I would like to point out the presence of some online tools that allow you to find the Facebook ID with some ease: they do not always work, but trying them does not cost anything, so it is worth taking them into consideration.
How to find a person's ID on Facebook
So let's get down to business and see how to find a person's id on facebook. The steps you will have to do are basically two: first you have to go to the profile of the person of your interest, analyze the address you see in the top bar of the browser and write down everything that is after it. Slash (the symbol /). After that you have to analyze the source of the page, in order to see the HTML code of the same.
Therefore, log in to Facebook from its main page and, if you want to find out your ID, go to your profile by clicking on you don't know located at the top right.
If, on the other hand, you are interested in finding out another person's ID, go to theirs Profile, looking for it through the search bar at the top left, and select the outcome relevant più.
Once you have reached the profile of your interest (yours or that of another user), click on address bar of the browser you are using (the one above) and carefully analyze the address you see inside it.
- If the address has a format like facebook.com/nome.cognome.xx you have to write down everything after the slash (so name.surname.xx).
- If the address has a format like facebook.com/profile.php?id=12345678 you did "Bingo" directly, since the ID you are looking for is the number after the equal sign (=).
Let's take the Facebook founder profile as an example, Mark Zuckerberg: to find out the ID of his page you can analyze the source of the latter using any of the most popular web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc. These are the steps you need to take in more detail.
- Chrome and Firefox - connect to the Facebook profile whose ID you want to discover, right click anywhere on the page and select the item View page source give the menu check if you press.
- Internet Explorer - connected to the Facebook profile whose ID you want to discover, right click anywhere on the page, select the item HTML from the menu that opens and go to the tab Debugger of the pane that appears below.

- Safari —Connect to the Facebook profile whose ID you want to find out, right-click anywhere on the page and select the item Show page source give the menu check if you press.
As a result you will get a text page with apparently confusing information inside. At this point, to find the ID of the selected profile, you need to recall the search bar browser (which is usually done by pressing the key combination Ctrl + F on the computer keyboard; cmd + f on Mac) and search for the string profile_id.
The ID of the person (or of the page) is, as can be easily understood, the one indicated after the wording "Id". In the case of Zuckerberg 4.
You expected it to be "1", right? But no! The first three Facebook users were fake profiles used by Zuckerberg himself when he designed the social network. These profiles are now no longer available but he is left with ID number 4.
